Grand-Bassin [Ganga-Talao] is a holy lake located in the southern part of Mauritius Island. It is surrounded by divine significance and its sacred water [Ganga] is revered by devotees throughout the year and across the island. One of the admirable day at this abode is in February, when Maha Shivratree [Great Night Of Lord Shiva] is celebrated. Pilgrims across the island walk to the Holy Lake to bring back the sacred water to the respective temples of their locality and offer this in sign of respect and devotion unto the Shiv Lingum.
On the 1st of January 2012, I have been to this Holy Lake and seized the same opportunity to take some snaps to share with all visitors of my weblog.
